Environmental Awareness Campaigns in Elementary Schools

Forewarned is forearmed. Through the campaign, the foundation hopes to instill the value of protecting and taking good care of the environment in young people’s hearts and minds in the hopes that they could adapt this mindset to their daily lives and affect true conservation and change. Children aged 6-12 listened to presentations about the situation of our planet, particularly of the earth and sea as well as what we can do to save it. Their response was enthusiastic. They promised to put up a vegetable garden in their school yard, teachers agreed to continue conducing activities with an environmental bent per month such as coastal clean-ups and community clean-ups to encourage the participation of the parents as well. SPSF provided children with books about Environmental Protection as well as posters illustrating the danger of throwing non-biodegradable trash into the sea.
